of schools administered by The Salvation Army in the Republic of Haiti

The
Salvation Army schools have some10,000 students. These are all primary
schools except for one secondary school in Port au Prince. School
size ranges from 18 - 1500 students with an average school enrollment
of 200 students. Six grades comprise the primary education. The last
year (6th grade) is called the certificate class. Children must pass
the state exam in order to continue their secondary school studies.
The national average for passing the test is 50 %. In The Salvation
Army schools, the average is well over 50% with some schools scoring
80 %- 90% and one school scoring a 100 %.
