Worship:
Salvation Army centers of worship are called "corps." We invite you to worship with us. The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Donations:
Financial donations may be made online or by contacting a local Salvation Army unit, by phone or by mail. Addresses for each Maryland unit are listed below.
Most household items, clothing, furniture, etc. are donated to Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARCs) and sold in thrift stores to raise funds for the program. To donate, contact either an ARC or a local Salvation Army unit. Generally, ARCs operate in a 50-mile radius of their location
Most vehicles are donated to Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC) and sold at auction to raise funds for the program. To donate a vehicle, contact the ARC or a local Salvation Army unit. The vehicle should normally be in driving condition (some locations accept non-working vehicles). The Salvation Army will issue a receipt acknowledging the vehicle was received, and will be sold by auction. The amount received in a sale by The Salvation Army will be the amount allowed as a tax deduction by the donor. Contact an ARC or your local Salvation Army for more information.
Assistance:
Assistance programs are conducted by local Salvation Army units. In cities where there is an Area Command, it usually conducts the social services program. Assistance for food, utilities, rent, housing and other needs is determined by need and the availability of resources to meet that need.
